Real gear, real people — protected end to end.
Picturental is a UK marketplace built so renting from a stranger feels as safe as renting from a hire shop, and a lot more affordable. Here's exactly how each side works.
For renters
Find gear → book → shoot
- 1
Find what you need
Browse cameras, lenses, lighting, drones — filter by city, dates, or price. Save listings to come back to later.
- 2
Request to book
Pick your dates, leave the owner a note. They review and approve, usually within hours.
- 3
Pay through Stripe
Once approved, you pay via Stripe Checkout. Funds are held until the rental starts — owner gets paid afterward.
- 4
Pick up, shoot, return
Local pickup or shipping (where the owner offers it). Use the booking thread to coordinate. Return on time.
- 5
Leave a review
Both sides review each other after the rental. Reviews come from real, completed bookings only — no review bombing.
For owners
List → approve → get paid
- 1
List in two minutes
Snap a few photos, set your daily rate. Optionally add weekly + monthly discounts so longer rentals stay attractive.
- 2
Approve renters
You see who wants to book and decide. Decline, approve, or message first — no one gets your gear without your sign-off.
- 3
Get paid by Stripe
Stripe handles payment + payout directly to your bank. 12% platform fee covers Picturental Protect, dispute support, and the marketplace itself. You keep the rest.
Trust & safety, baked in
The four things that make renting from a stranger feel as comfortable as renting from a hire shop.
ID verified members
Both renter and owner pass Stripe-backed identity checks. Verified badges show up across the site.
Picturental Protect
Damage cover on every booking — built into the platform fee, no extra purchase. Up to the listed deposit value.
Secure payments
Card details handled by Stripe, never touch us. Funds held in escrow between payment and rental completion.
Real-time messaging
Booking-linked chat threads so coordination stays on-platform. Email notifications when the other party replies.
Ready when you are.
Whether you're here to rent or to list, the path is short.
