Kit builder

Not sure what to rent? Tell us the shoot.

Pick what you're filming, how you're shooting it and your budget. We'll put together a camera and lenses that actually fit each other — with the adapters, cards and batteries to check before the shoot.

Build my kit

Picturental Protect

A damage-claim process on every booking, built into the platform fee. Not insurance.

Secure payments

Instant-book kit is confirmed the moment you pay. On a request, nothing leaves your card until the owner accepts. Full refund if you cancel before the rental starts.

Pickup or shipping

Local pickup is free. Nationwide shipping where the owner offers it.

ID verification

Members verify their ID and carry the badge; owners can require it. Reviews come from real bookings only.

On-demand

Need a camera in 60 seconds. Not a week.

Instant Match is the on-demand layer of Picturental. Post what you need. The nearest available provider accepts in real time. Payment held, kit in your hands, shoot starts.

Post an instant requestSee how it works

  • Nearest provider asked first

The closest online provider within 19 miles gets first refusal, then it widens to the next.

  • 60-second accept

First to tap yes locks the job. Funds authorised on your card the same instant.

  • Live chat the moment it locks

Coordinate pickup, share notes, never lose context.

How Picturental works

A safer way to rent gear from real people.

1

Find your gear

Search verified listings nearby or have items shipped to you.

2

Book + verify

Quick ID check, transparent price with built-in protection.

3

Shoot + return

Pick up or have it delivered. Return it on time. Leave a review.

ID Verified

Every renter and lender passes identity checks.

Picturental Protect

Built-in damage protection on every booking.

Secure Payments

Funds held until pickup. Disputes covered.

Verified Reviews

Real reviews from real bookings only.

Own gear? Let it earn.

Your kit makes money on the days you're not shooting.

List in 2 minutes. Approve who borrows it. Get paid by Stripe after every rental — the renter pays a 12% fee on top, which funds damage claims and dispute support.

List your gearHow payouts work

  • You're always in control

Approve or decline each request. Set your own dates, prices, and pickup rules.

  • Paid automatically

Stripe pulls payment from the renter on approval and pays you out 24 hours after the rental ends.

  • Protected every time

Your day rate reaches you in full — the 12% fee is paid by the renter on top, and it funds Picturental Protect, the damage-claim process and dispute mediation.

Need people, not just kit?

Hire crew the same way you hire gear.

Post the role, your postcode and your rate. The nearest match gets asked first, and it widens outward until someone accepts — no roster to scroll through, no calls to make.

Hire crew List yourself as crew

Popular roles: Cinematographer, Gaffer, Sound recordist, Drone operator

  • The nearest is asked first

Not a blast to everyone — the closest match within range gets it alone, and it widens to the next nearest only if they pass.

  • One tap to accept

First to accept takes the job. You swap details, work the day, and rate each other afterwards.

  • 26 roles covered

From gaffers and focus pullers to location managers and colourists — post any role on a film, TV or branded shoot.
