Will it fit?

What lenses fit the Canon EOS R6 Mark II?

The short answer

The Canon EOS R6 Mark II has a Canon RF mount and a full frame sensor. Canon RF lenses fit directly. PL, LPL, Canon EF, Nikon F, Canon FD, M42 and Leica M lenses fit with an adapter. L-Mount, Micro Four Thirds, Sony E, Fujifilm X and Nikon Z lenses can't be adapted to its Canon RF mount.

Every lens mount on the Canon EOS R6 Mark II

Fits directly

  • Canon RF lenses

The camera's own mount — nothing extra needed.

Fits with an adapter

  • PL lenses

    Needs a PL-to-Canon RF adapter.

  • LPL lenses

Needs an LPL-to-Canon RF adapter (specialist LPL adapter).

  • Canon EF lenses

Needs a Canon EF-to-Canon RF adapter (Canon's EF–EOS R adapter). A smart adapter keeps autofocus.

  • Nikon F lenses

Needs a Nikon F-to-Canon RF adapter. Whether autofocus works depends on the adapter.

  • Canon FD lenses

Needs a Canon FD-to-Canon RF adapter.

  • M42 lenses

    Needs an M42-to-Canon RF adapter.

  • Leica M lenses

Needs a Leica M-to-Canon RF adapter.

No standard adapter

  • Fujifilm G lenses

Physically possible, but there's no standard Fujifilm G-to-Canon RF adapter — ask the owner.

Won't fit

  • L-Mount lenses

A L-Mount lens needs to sit closer to the sensor than the Canon RF mount allows, so there's no room for an adapter.

  • Micro Four Thirds lenses

A Micro Four Thirds lens needs to sit closer to the sensor than the Canon RF mount allows, so there's no room for an adapter.

  • Sony E lenses

A Sony E lens needs to sit closer to the sensor than the Canon RF mount allows, so there's no room for an adapter.

  • Fujifilm X lenses

A Fujifilm X lens needs to sit closer to the sensor than the Canon RF mount allows, so there's no room for an adapter.

  • Nikon Z lenses

A Nikon Z lens needs to sit closer to the sensor than the Canon RF mount allows, so there's no room for an adapter.

Some cameras can have a different lens mount fitted by a technician. If a rental comes that way the listing will say so, and this table won't apply.

Sensor coverage

Lenses made for full frame and large format cover its full frame sensor fully.

Lenses made for Super 16, Micro Four Thirds and Super 35 throw a smaller image, so expect dark corners unless you shoot in a crop mode that matches.

Mounts and adapters are checked against flange distance and the adapters that are actually sold. Kits vary — if a pairing matters for your shoot, confirm it with the owner before you book.
