What lenses fit the Blackmagic Design PYXIS 12K?

The short answer

The Blackmagic Design PYXIS 12K usually has an L-Mount — it can be swapped, so check which one is fitted — and a full frame sensor. L-Mount lenses fit directly. PL, Canon EF, Nikon F, Canon FD, M42 and Leica M lenses fit with an adapter. Canon RF, Micro Four Thirds, Sony E, Fujifilm X and Nikon Z lenses can't be adapted to its L-Mount.

  • Sony E lenses

    A Sony E lens needs to sit closer to the sensor than the L-Mount allows, so there's no room for an adapter.

  • Fujifilm X lenses

    A Fujifilm X lens needs to sit closer to the sensor than the L-Mount allows, so there's no room for an adapter.

  • Nikon Z lenses

    A Nikon Z lens needs to sit closer to the sensor than the L-Mount allows, so there's no room for an adapter.

The Blackmagic Design PYXIS 12K's mount can be swapped, so a rental may come with a different one fitted. The table assumes the usual L-Mount — confirm with the owner.

Sensor coverage

Lenses made for full frame and large format cover its full frame sensor fully.

Lenses made for Super 16, Micro Four Thirds and Super 35 throw a smaller image, so expect dark corners unless you shoot in a crop mode that matches.
